About Rich Walton Photography.....

Photography began as a hobby for me as a boy. My father got started in photography as a boy, as well, and he was the one who introduced me to this exciting field! I got my first camera (an Ansco Cadet!) when I was 10 and I have been taking photographs ever since. My knowledge grew dramatically when I was a member (and officer) of the Camera Club at Harrison Hall at Purdue University. There I had access to great cameras and darkroom facilities. Education

I have studied Wedding Photography under Hanson Fong (1998) and David Newman (2000)at the Mid-America Institute of Professional Photography. Also I studied "The Natural Light Studio" under Jim and Lois Wyant (1999). I have also attended numerous other photographic seminars put on by the Indianapolis Professional Photographers Guild (IPPG), the Professional Photographers of Indiana (PPI) and the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) all of which I am a member in good standing.

Awards

In September of 2000 my album "Precious Moments" won in competition at the Indianapolis Professional Photographers Guild Fall Seminar in Brown County State Park and I was named Wedding Photographer of the Year. In February of 2001 my album "A Walk in the Park" won the Charles Minor Award for Excellent Wedding Coverage in competiton at the Professional Photographers of Indiana Conference in Indianapolis.

In September 2002 my wedding album "Love's Pleasures" won the Silver Award at the Indianapolis Professional Photographers Guild Fall Conference at Brown County State Park.

I reside in Carmel, Indiana with my wife and three children. I am a member of Carmel United Methodist Church, the Nora Sertoma Club and the Seton Society at St. Vincent Hospital.
